Hrolf was a 10th century Scandinavian sea-king who claimed his destiny raiding Paris and becoming Rollo, the first Duke of Normandy, establishing the mighty Norman lineage of Francophone vikingstock. His descendants would invade England in the 11th century and change the course of western history indelibly.

As Hrolf is Rollo now in that story, Brother Hill is Blackfish now in this story.
